APPLICABLE CODES:

  • (i) Driveway: A vehicular pathway that serves no more than four (4) Residential Units and any number of non-commercial or non-industrial Utility or Miscellaneous Group U Buildings on each parcel. A Driveway shall not serve commercial or industrial uses at any size or scale.

  • Fire apparatus access roads shall not exceed 10 percent in grade. Driveways for one- and two-family dwellings and Group R-3 occupancies shall not exceed 12-percent in grade. Exception: Where approved by the fire code official, driveway grades may exceed 12 percent, but not more than 16 percent, provided the driveway meets or exceeds the prescribed minimum width, and is not longer in length than the maximum permissible height of the structure, but in no case more than 35 feet, and has the appropriate transitional slopes at the edge of pavement to property line, and has no significant articulation greater than 45 percent angle in its entire length.
