Recent storms continue to add snow loads that can settle and shift causing damage to propane piping, creating gas leaks that could lead to a possible explosion. It’s imperative that you keep the top of your tank and piping clear of snow throughout the winter to prevent leaks. If you smell gas, call 911 and evacuate home and area.
We’ve received our new rescue air boat purchased through mitigation fees. This new boat will be a very valuable asset to the District and is replacing our old air boat of over 30 years. It’s equipped with a fan and a Kevlar bottom that enables us to travel across ice and snow. This will greatly assist our District in providing effective rescue and recovery services on the many bodies of water in our area. In addition, the boat has many other modern implements like an infrared system to identify distressed and possibly drowning persons at night. We’ll be out training on Donner Lake over the next month.
Congratulations to Paul Spencer, 2017 Hospitality Award Winner.
