Fire Station 95 Expansion and Modernization
2010/2011
In September 2004 the Truckee Fire Protection District staffed the Glenshire Fire Station 95 full time to better serve the residents and visitors within the District's service area. An expansion to the current footprint of the station is needed to meet growth driven operational needs and to maintain the current level of service provided by the District.
Funding for this project was made possible from Developer Impact Fees. The contract for construction was awarded to Hilbers, Inc. at the March 30th board meeting and Truckee Fire Protection District is anticipating construction to begin on Fire Station 95 in late April or early May. During construction, Fire District crews and equipment will operate out of the old Glenshire Mutual Water Building, 14630 Glenshire Drive, at the west entrance to Glenshire. This temporary relocation will allow the Fire District to continue to provide a high level of service to the Glenshire area communities as well as the eastern boundary of the Fire District during construction.
Construction of Fire Station 95 is anticipated to take approximately 10 months, concluding in early spring of 2011.
During that period, the current Fire Station 95 (located at the corner of Manchester and Dorchester adjacent to Glenshire Elementary School) will be an active construction site and will be closed to the public. Fire District services, such as burn permits, may be obtained from the temporary location of Station 95 located at 14630 Glenshire Drive. As always if you have an emergency, call 911 to request assistance. If you have any questions please contact Gene Welch, Public Information Officer for Truckee Fire Protection District at 530-582-7635.
